Declaration of Independence

Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence, the signing of which is celebrated throughout America today, was also a staunch advocate of religious freedom.

An article published in 2014 in Time magazine, “The Theology of the Fourth of July” by Ira Stoll, posits that Independence Day is a religious holiday, and he cites John Fitzgerald Kennedy and the Declaration of Independence to prove his point.
