UN Special Rapporteur on Religious Rights Briefs General Assembly on Global Religious Intolerance
In his briefing to the UN General Assembly human rights committee October 24, UN Special Rapporteur on Religious Rights Ahmed Shaheed said over 70 countries currently have anti-blasphemy laws that can be used to suppress dissenting views, in violation of international human rights standards.
